Kamat Lab

Welcome to the page of the Kamat Lab at Notre Dame! Dr. Prashant Kamat leads our group of graduate, undergraduate, and postdoctoral researchers from all around the world in diverse areas of energy research. The members of our group have diverse backgrounds, from physical chemistry, to chemical engineering, to physics. Our lab specializes in both fundamental science research, such as light

energy conversion, photocatalysis, graphene chemistry, and electrochemistry, and also in taking the insights from this fundamental science and applying it to real world applications and devices, such as solar cells, hydrogen generation, batteries, and sensors. By using this unique collaborative approach, we seek to tackle a wide range of issues in alternative energy generation and environmental remediation. Dr. Kamat has been at Notre Dame almost 30 years, and has over 400 publications which have been cited a combined 24,500+ times! We hope you check out some of the work that we do here in the Radiation Laboratory at Notre Dame!

Dr. Kamat will be speaking on Monday, November 26th at 10:15am (ET) in Hynes Convention Center, Level 3 Ballroom C. The talk is entitled "Charge Injection from Excited CsPbBr3 Nanocrystals into TiO2 in Perovskite and Its Role in the Degradation of Perovskite Layer in Visible Light". Come listen to the latest research from the Kamat Lab!

Rebecca Scheidt, third year graduate student in the lab, will be speaking on Thursday, November 29th at 9am (ET) in Hynes Convention Center, Level 3 Room Ballroom B. The talk is entitled "Suppression of Halide Ion Exchange in Cesium Lead Halide Perovskites with PbSO4-Oleate Capping". Come learn what exciting things the Kamat Lab is up to!
