Norwood Montessori School

Norwood Montessori School Montessori education for children 1.9 years old to 18 years old. The first 8 years are the most important years in a child's life.

Norwood Montessori School offers a quality Montessori education to children ages 2 to 18 years old. Norwood Montessori covers these areas and gives peace of mind to you as a parent, knowing that your child is being taken care of in a loving, educational environment. Norwoo

d Montessori offers educational opportunities for children with an integrated curriculum. These areas include Sensorial, Language, Math, Science, Cultural, Art, French, Practical Life, and Music among others. Multi-age classrooms provide children with a carefully prepared learning environment and a wide range of quality materials. Our goal is for each child to acquire a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their whole life. With this system of different ages in the same classroom, we accomplish important goals such as enhancing social skills, since children learn from each other. Individual needs are fulfilled and each child's potential is maximized. Self discipline is formed from the consistency of the classroom, Montessori philosophy and Peace curriculum. Our students grow to be loving, caring, responsible, respectful children, who care about their surroundings and environment...

This is one of the reasons why our Elementary and Secondary students cook all their own meals at school!

You’re in the kitchen, measuring, mixing, and trying to keep things from spilling over.

They’re right there beside you, asking questions, pouring a little too fast, watching closely as ingredients change shape and texture. It might feel messy or slow, like something that takes more effort than it gives back in the moment.

But a child’s brain doesn’t separate “learning” from everyday life. When they cook, they’re practicing sequencing, measuring, timing, and cause-and-effect without even realizing it. These repeated, hands-on experiences strengthen problem-solving pathways and build an intuitive sense of numbers and patterns.

So while it looks like simple participation, something deeper is forming. Confidence in figuring things out, curiosity about how things work, and comfort with trial and error.

And sometimes, what feels like a small shared task is quietly shaping how a child learns to think, not just what they learn.

Our sincerest appreciation goes out to all who attended our Holiday Party and participated in the Teddy Bear-making activity for children in need. Your donations of gifts, food, and other items were truly generous. The event's success is a testament to your kindness, and we are thrilled to have been able to donate a large number of stuffed animals, toys, and clothing to those who require them.

Not only do we teach the children about healthy teeth care but sometimes we have to be the dentist for our pets. This is our bumblebee puffer’s top teeth that needed a trimming.
