👀 PEEP… Something Exciting is Coming to NMS! Attendance TRIBE Challenge

For the 2026–2027 school year, NMS staff and students are taking attendance to the next level with our brand-new ATTENDANCE TRIBE CHALLENGE!

Last school year, NMS reduced chronic absenteeism by more than 5%—an accomplishment made possible by the hard work of our students, families, and staff. This year, we’re raising the bar with a goal of reducing chronic absenteeism by at least another 3%!

The Attendance TRIBE Challenge grew from the ideas and efforts of our own students who worked to improve attendance last year. The challenge is simple:

BE ON TIME. BE IN CLASS. BE THERE FOR YOUR TRIBE.

Our Advisory Tribes include students from across grade levels, giving our older students opportunities to mentor younger classmates while strengthening the Norwood Connection throughout NMS. Tribe members will encourage one another, hold each other accountable, and work together toward a common goal: showing up and making every school day count.

And speaking of surprises… 👀

Our Pre-Engineering students are already hard at work creating something special to help us crown our first Attendance TRIBE Champions of the year! We aren’t giving away the surprise just yet—but we think our students are going to love it.

We’re ready to hit the ground running, build on last year’s success, and see which TRIBE rises to the challenge!
