🚨 Teaching Moment: Listen to the AED—Don't Rush It! 🚨

In this video, you'll notice my student reaches for the shock button before the AED tells him to.

That's a very common reaction. When someone is in cardiac arrest, your adrenaline is pumping, and all you want to do is help as quickly as possible.

But this is why we train.

An AED is designed to guide you step by step. It will first analyze the person's heart rhythm and then tell you exactly what to do. Only press the shock button when the AED clearly says, "Press the flashing shock button" (or similar instructions).

⚠️ Don't assume. 👂 Listen to every voice prompt. ⏸️ Wait for the AED's instructions before taking the next step.

Staying calm and following the AED's prompts helps ensure the safest and most effective care possible.
Remember: Training builds confidence, and confidence saves lives.
