Hi all! I am still waiting for some finalized staffing notices and then I am hoping to have classroom teachers and student placements set. Please remember that PARENT SQUARE is the district's new communication platform. We have been asked to stop using classroom DOJO. As soon as everyone's contacts are updated I will send out information to join PARENT SQUARE. Please PLEASE make sure that your contact information (email, address and phone numbers are updated at the school). Also it is SO IMPORTANT to have as many working emergency contacts as possible listed at the school incase we need to get ahold of someone!

KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION:

We are so excited to have the chance to meet incoming kindergarteners tomorrow at 9:30 in our Huntington Library. (There will be other chances throughout the summer to have incoming students take a tour and meet teachers if you can not make it tomorrow).

Why is orientation important in kindergarten?
Kindergarten Orientation helps your child to get to know their teacher, classmates, the inside of a classroom as well as learning to be independent from you.

🌟As part of the school-wide PBIS program, we recently held an enrichment activity party as a positive behavior incentive and celebration. Students were rewarded for following the ROCKS school-wide expectations!

They kept track of their positive behaviors by collecting BLUE PBIS TICKETS for showing positive behavior and ROCKS character traits and could earn participation in various activities, including:

-painting a Kindness Mural and Black History Month Mural
-a dance party
-engineering activities
-a science experiment with invisible ink
-sports, obstacle course contest
-kindness book read-alouds and more!

📢 Seeking volunteers! We have many opportunities for parents and community members to make a difference in our schools. We're currently looking for elementary & middle school library, preschool, lunch and recess volunteers. Our Adult Education program is also seeking volunteers to assist ESL students.

🎭 What are your plans this Friday? Norwich Education Foundation is hosting a night of song, dance and talent. The Follies is a family friendly community event with pizza and a preshow presented by our own NPS instrumental students. What better way for the NPS Education Foundation to raise funds for the schools!
