The final week of the NPS Loft Summer Camp was one to remember!

On Tuesday, students enjoyed a fun Movie Day, where they wore their comfy clothes, relaxed with popcorn. A special thank you to Fizz N Twistct for generously donating your services to our students. They absolutely loved it, and we truly appreciate your support!

On Wednesday, students visited Subway in Yantic, where they learned about food safety, hygiene, customer service, teamwork, and what it takes to operate a successful business. They even had the opportunity to make sandwiches for one another using the skills they learned. We were also excited to welcome Subman for a special visit!

A heartfelt thank you to Jim & Laurie, the owners of Family Subs, for their incredible hospitality and for providing such a meaningful hands-on learning experience. We also want to thank the entire Subway staff for taking the time to teach and encourage our students. Through their generous fundraiser, Subway also raised funds to support the NPS Loft and help local families in need.

One of the most exciting moments of the day came when a student looking for a job was offered a position at Subway on the spot—a wonderful example of how opportunities can change lives!

On Thursday, we celebrated the end of camp with Domino's Pizza, Kona Ice, 99 Restaurants popcorn, and a special certificate ceremony attended by students, families, and Mayor Singh “Swarnjit Singh”. Each student received a certificate recognizing their individual volunteer hours.

Together, our students completed an incredible 1,575 hours of community service this summer. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to helping others made a lasting impact on the NPS Loft and our community.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to Lindsay Caron with DJD Print & Designs for generously creating the Summer Camp shirts for our students. We truly appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Thank you to everyone who supported the NPS Loft Summer Camp—our students, families, volunteers, community partners, and donors.

We can't wait to do it all again next summer!
