So proud of this kid. ā¤ļø
Happy Rally Tuesday!
We have a lot of money to raise. Letās get started!
Rally Tuesday is in two days. This is one the day that The Accord School does pretty much all of our fundraising for the year.
Usually we make a silly video and run a telethon-style day on social media.
But this year is just really different- I donāt have it in me to do the usual antics.
I wish we could skip Rally Tuesday altogether⦠but we canāt. This year, more than ever, the need for financial aid has exploded at Accord. Itās a little overwhelming.
Iām thankful to our Accord alumni for jumping in to help this year. As a teacher, itās humbling when roles reverse and past students show up as the helpers.
I hope you consider joining us for Rally Tuesday: https://www.theaccordschool.org/rallytuesday
Follow along on the school page, or right here.
Xo Katy

Chris, my old S4L student (now friend) planned to visit me at school today. He said heād bring me a coffee.
He surprised me by bringing along another S4Ler, Liam, flowers, and a board game.
I had no idea how uplifting that particular combo would be. They plan to come back in June and teach Accord students some new games.
Grateful.

Van Camp is NOT FULL!?!? Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
I actually love when kids roll their eyes at me. #š

Next week, Iām back in action! āļø
Iām taking my message of neurodivergence and friendship on the road to work with the incredible community at North Park Elementary School in Chicago.
Here is whatās on my heart and the agenda:
ā¢K-5th Graders: Weāre talking about why "invisible differences" aren't just normal- they are a HUGE asset to the world.
ā¢Middle Schoolers: A deeper dive into neurodivergence while discovering their own
unique intelligences.
ā¢Educators: Deepening the mindset that Social-Emotional Learning isnāt an "add-on," itās the foundation that ignites learning for everyone.
ā¢Families: Iām hosting a session on helping kids navigate the "tricky world of friendship" without us becoming overbearing.
Iāve missed my work, and I am happy be getting back to it.
Chicago, see you soon!

Iām so grateful to have received hundreds of cards and thousands of messages- not exaggerating- since losing my parents.
People are so good.
Many of the messages say, āthere are no words,āāand I agreed with that, until I received this message from one of my 6th grade students today.
Liam found the words:
āIf I could only time travel once in my whole entire life I would be there for your parents.ā
Those are the words I didnāt know I needed. ā¤ļøā³
