Our students showed our new teachers, and their Milwaukee sisters, the outdoor classroom, new garden, and outdoor fun. Everyone had a joyful time bonding together.
We will miss the Milwaukee sisters, and welcome them to visit us anytime!
We were all sad to say goodbye to Mother Mercy as she heads back to Kenya this week, but we thank her for accompanying our new teachers and helping them to adjust to life in the Upper Peninsula. We will take good care of them!

Yesterday our students took a field trip to see how juice grapes are turned into wine. After tasting the grapes, they found them sweeter, more flavorful, and juicier than table grapes. They also saw many animals and shared stories of how hunting is a traditional way to provide food for our families.

What an absolute blessing it was to share mass and witness the dedication of our new sisters’ home!  Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who helped renovate Saint Barbara’s rectory into their new convent. Soon they join us as teachers at Holy Spirit Catholic School and Bishop Baraga Catholic School.

Our kindergartners had a great first day exploring the outdoor classroom! They caught, explored, and released five different kinds of insects.
