E4 Chess Academy Welcome to e4 Chess Academy! Located in the center of Norwalk, Connecticut. Also Arslan is a professional MMA fighter with 17 years fighting experience.

Arslan Otchiyev is a Fide Master (2410) who has fulfilled the requirements for an International Master status and a former member of Turkmenistan National Team. In 2022 and 2023 he has been named the Connecticut Coach of the Year, while in 2018 he was crowned Connecticut State champion. Arslan is a very experienced coach who understands extremely well how to coach kids, with 19 years of coaching experience as he has won the Under 18 championship in his native country for six consecutive years!

Another great weekend of chess at E4 Chess Academy during our Classical G/60;d5 USCF Rated Event!

Strong performance against a very competitive field, finishing clear first with wins over Laurence Price, Omkar Maralappanavar, and Marfa Esaulova.

Solid tournament with important wins and a draw against Kushagra in contention until the final round.

πŸ₯‰ Vedanta Bhargava β€” 3/5
Excellent finish with two consecutive wins in the last rounds to secure third place.

Thank you to everyone who came out for our latest Rapid Championship. We hosted two competitive sections: Open and Under 1800. Great atmosphere, strong games, and big rating gains across the board.

Open Section Results
1st – Michael Uwakwe (4.0)
2nd – Omkar Maralappanavar (3.5)
3rd – Kwabena Adu-Poku (3.0)

Other notable performances:
Cody Wu (3.0), Jeffrey Vargas (2.5), Ismael Pagan (2.0), Laurence Price (1.5), Nicolas Zimmerman (1.5)

Under 1800 Section Results
1st – Jose Leon (5.0 perfect score)
2nd – Sanjay Singh (3.5)
3rd – Amitai Gillon (3.5)

Over 1800 Section
Going into the final round, four players were tied with 3/4.
Omkar vs. Michael Uwakwe decided the championship β€” Omkar was winning out of the opening but missed his chances, and Michael gradually developed his pieces and secured the victory after an intense game.
