Another great weekend of chess at E4 Chess Academy during our Classical G/60;d5 USCF Rated Event!

Congratulations to our Open Section winners:

🥇 Kushagra Bhargava — 4/5
Strong performance against a very competitive field, finishing clear first with wins over Laurence Price, Omkar Maralappanavar, and Marfa Esaulova.

🥈 Omkar Maralappanavar — 3/5
Solid tournament with important wins and a draw against Kushagra in contention until the final round.

🥉 Vedanta Bhargava — 3/5
Excellent finish with two consecutive wins in the last rounds to secure third place.

Other notable performances included:
• Ian Avery Singh — 2.5/4 undefeated before withdrawal
• Marfa Esaulova — 2.5/5
• Cody Wu — undefeated with four draws and a half-point bye

e4 Rapid Championship – Event Recap

Thank you to everyone who came out for our latest Rapid Championship. We hosted two competitive sections: Open and Under 1800. Great atmosphere, strong games, and big rating gains across the board.

Open Section Results
1st – Michael Uwakwe (4.0)
2nd – Omkar Maralappanavar (3.5)
3rd – Kwabena Adu-Poku (3.0)

1st – Jose Leon (5.0 perfect score)
2nd – Sanjay Singh (3.5)
3rd – Amitai Gillon (3.5)

Strong showings also by Bennett Chung (3.0), Aaron Piao (2.0), Jackson Twining (2.0), Wilson Ramos (2.0), and Sam Fishel.

What an amazing tournament at E4 Chess Academy this weekend! Sixteen players battled it out in two sections — Open and U1800 — with nonstop action from start to finish!

e4 Chess Academy Classical Tournament Recap

Thank you to the 22 players who joined us this weekend!

Under 1800 Section
🥇 Jerry Liang — 4/5, $200
🥈 Liam Cheng — $150
🥉 Yash Godkar — edged out on tiebreak

Over 1800 Section
Going into the final round, four players were tied with 3/4.
Omkar vs. Michael Uwakwe decided the championship — Omkar was winning out of the opening but missed his chances, and Michael gradually developed his pieces and secured the victory after an intense game.

Final standings:
🥇 Michael Uwakwe — 4/5, $300 (second tournament victory at e4 Chess Academy)
🥈 Kushagra Bhargava — $200
🥉 Callista Herve-Mignucci — $150 (lowest-rated in his section, an impressive achievement!)
