Post‑secondary pathways take many forms. College is one strong option — and so are the skilled trades, apprenticeships, certifications, and direct‑to‑work opportunities that lead to stable, high‑demand careers. For young people and adults exploring careers in the trades, there’s an upcoming community opportunity that highlights what these pathways can look like in practice. It’s a chance to meet employers, learn about different trades, and understand what skills and credentials open doors in this sector.

Norwalk continues to invest in multiple routes to career readiness, and events like this help residents see what’s possible beyond traditional post‑secondary paths. Please share with anyone who may be exploring workforce options.

It’s officially Back to School season in Norwalk, and our community is showing up in a big way. From supply drives to backpack giveaways to family resource events, there are so many opportunities for students to get what they need to start the year strong. Norwalk is full of partners who care deeply about our kids and families — and this week, they’re hosting several events in the coming days to make sure every student heads into the school year feeling prepared and supported.

We’re grateful for every organization, volunteer, and neighbor helping make Back to School a little brighter for Norwalk families. If you know a student or family who could use supplies or support, please share these resources — our community is stronger when we lift each other up.

Norwalk teens — we want you in the room!

The Youth Advocate Program is all about real conversations, real community, and real impact. This initiative supports young people in developing leadership skills, deepening their understanding of the community they call home, and engaging in meaningful conversations about well‑being, equity, and civic participation. Youth Advocates play an important role in shaping how our community listens to and learns from its young people. If you want to connect with other teens who care about their city and together, be part of something meaningful, this is your chance to plug in. The first meeting is coming up soon — check out the flyer for details and the application link.

P.S. We encourage families, educators, and community partners to share this opportunity with Norwalk teens who may be interested.
