Last night, our NJSA coaches, Coach Jordan and Coach Jason had the opportunity to attend Keep Her in the Game coach training, and they left incredibly excited about what they can bring back to our players!
Keep Her in the Game is an initiative from Gotham FC and Girls Leadership focused on helping girls stay connected to the game they love by creating environments where players feel confident, supported, connected and excited to keep playing.
They learned activities and coaching strategies that can be incorporated naturally into soccer practices while still keeping the focus on playing, learning, development and having fun.
Over the coming season, players in our girls’ programs will begin to see some of these Keep Her in the Game activities and themes embedded into their practices, and we are looking forward to begin incorporating what was learned into our program.
There may also be additional Keep Her in the Game opportunities for our players and families as the season progresses, and NJSA looks forward to sharing more as those become available.
While this initiative has a special focus on keeping girls engaged in sport, many of the ideas behind it — belonging, confidence, connection and creating a positive team environment — can help make the experience better for every player in our program.
NJSA is excited to bring these ideas to the field this season.
