Mental Health Services for Undocu & LGBTQIA+ Student Populations

Alongside our UndocuFalcons Scholars Program, the LGBTQ+ Program is happy to announce it is now offering mental health services with our community partner, Insight Family & Wellness! To mark the official launch of the services, we are inviting LGBTQ+ and/ or undocu students to participate in our summer group sessions.

Please note: Participating students must be registered under one or both programs in order to participate. Students who are not registered will be asked to do so according to the programmatic procedure(s).

Public Health Internship Opportunity with CDPH

On behalf of the California Department of Public Health, California Pathways into Public Health (Cal-PPH) Internship Program Team, we are excited to announce recruitment for the Fall 2023 internship cohort. The Cal-PPH Program is partnering with local health departments (LHDs) across the state to provide training, hands-on work experience, and ongoing support to an undergraduate or graduate student studying public health or a related discipline through these paid internships.

Information regarding Fall 2023 Internships:
**Internship Cohort dates are September 18 through December 15, 2023.
**Interns are paid $15.50-18 per hour, depending on education and other factors.
**Interns may work up to 29 hours per week.
**Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
**DACA and International students are eligible to apply.
**Onsite opportunities are available at potential LHDs across the state. See attached flyer for specific locations.

New Bachelor of Science degree program in Dental Hygiene at Cerritos College!

The new bachelor’s degree program will allow students to earn a four-year degree for less than $11,000 – a fraction of the tuition at a four-year university, helping students obtain an advanced degree with little to no college debt and increasing the communities’ social and upwards mobility. Students pursuing the new Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene only need to complete nine additional upper-division general education credits to earn a four-year degree.

The LGBTQ+ Program is happy to announce the P.R.I.D.E. Scholars Summer Symposium! 🏳️‍🌈

The 2023 P.R.I.D.E Scholars Summer Symposium hosts a variety of different events and workshops aimed to cultivate leadership and togetherness, and to provide a space in which to converse about topics which affect that the LGBTQ+ community. By design, it also aims to aid/prepare P.R.I.D.E. Scholars for their journeys in the P.R.I.D.E. Scholars Success Program.

Please be advised that this Symposium Series features events and workshops, such as LGBTQ+ Allyship 101, that are open to Cerritos College at large; however, some are reserved specifically for the student population. These events, requirements, and additional event details, are specified on the registration form
