Teachers and staff from our Early Childhood, Elementary and High School gathered Monday in the Learning Commons as President Martin Linder reflected on their shared calling as educators at Norwalk Catholic / St. Paul High School.

Together, our teachers are called to guide our students to serve before they lead all while helping them grow in their relationship with Christ. What a beautiful reminder of our mission we share each day. We are grateful for the teachers who live out this calling and make Norwalk Catholic a place where faith and learning go hand in hand.

Mr. Linder provided an update on This Is Next and how it evolved from Vision 2037 and the plan to continue to improve campus security, create a new welcome center, upgrade the Convo, and many more exciting projects....all to better serve our students here at Norwalk Catholic.

We loved seeing all the bright, smiling faces as our elementary students kicked off their first day of school! From excited greetings at the door to eager anticipation in the classrooms, there was so much energy and joy throughout campus today. Seeing Harvey was a highlight! Our students loved giving him hugs as they started their first day. We’re so happy to have our Flyers back home!

One of our favorite Flyer traditions continued this morning as our TLC students welcomed their fellow classmates and helped kick off the new school year with plenty of Flyer spirit. It is always special to see our students welcoming one another and beginning the year together as a Flyer family. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Norwalk Catholic is delighted to welcome back Mrs. Roth to our school community as a new 6th grade teacher! Her connection to Norwalk Catholic runs deep. A Norwalk native and former Norwalk Catholic student herself, Mrs. Roth felt it was time to return home and become part of the community that helped shape her. She also has a special connection to St. Paul’s, as her mother was the school’s first kindergarten teacher.

Mrs. Roth brings 26 years of teaching experience to Norwalk Catholic. She began her career at Monroeville St. Joseph, where she taught for 7 years, before spending the past 19 years teaching in Florida. Throughout her career, she has especially enjoyed building relationships with her students and watching them gain confidence.

Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and reading. One of her all-time favorite books is Wonder by R.J. Palacio, particularly its message, “In a world where you can do anything, choose kind.”

While she has plenty of teaching experience and wisdom to share, there is one classroom essential she simply cannot live without: her “emotional support water bottle.” Norwalk Catholic is thrilled to welcome Mrs. Roth home and looks forward to all she will bring to our 6th grade classroom and the flyer community!

Norwalk Catholic is excited to welcome Mrs. Johnson to the Flyer family as a new 4th Grade Teacher. Mrs. Johnson has been teaching since graduating in 2012, with experience ranging from kindergarten to post-secondary education. She is passionate about helping students reach their full academic potential and especially enjoys seeing their smiles when they grasp a new concept.

Originally from Port Clinton, Mrs. Johnson recently returned to the area with her family. After attending Mass at St. Paul and learning about the open teaching position and she felt that Norwalk Catholic was where she was meant to be. She is most excited to meet her students, get to know them, and build a strong classroom community.

Outside of school, Mrs. Johnson enjoys traveling, spending time with family, sewing, hiking, and going to the beach. Her favorite childhood book is Where the Wild Things Are, and she enjoys E.T. and Happy Feet. One fun fact about her is that while living in California, she could play in the snow and visit the Pacific Ocean on the same day!

Norwalk Catholic is grateful to welcome Mrs. Johnson and looks forward to her experience and enthusiasm she will bring to her 4th grade classroom. Welcome to the Flyer family, Mrs. Johnson!

Teachers and staff from Norwalk Catholic / St. Paul High School gathered on Friday at St. Alphonsus for a retreat to kick off the 2026–27 school year. The day provided a meaningful opportunity for our Flyer family to come together in faith, reflection, and fellowship before welcoming students back to school.
As part of the retreat, Loren Schild introduced the Hallow Catholic Prayer and Meditation App, a powerful resource that teachers will be able to incorporate into their classrooms as well as use for personal prayer and reflection. The app offers a variety of Catholic prayers, games, tools, guided meditations, music, and other faith-based resources.

Teachers and staff are ready to begin the year grounded in faith, connected as a community, and ready to welcome our students back home as a Flyer family. Let’s Go Flyers!
