💙 YBR ANNUAL ALL-SCHOOL FIELD DAY! 💙

What an AMAZING day! 🎉 A huge THANK YOU to all of our Yellow Brick Road schools for joining us and making our first annual All-School Field Day such a fun and successful company event!

Seeing students, teachers, and leaders from across our YBR family come together for games, laughter, teamwork, and a little friendly competition was so special.

Thank you to everyone who helped plan, organize, travel, participate, and make this day possible. This is what being BETTER TOGETHER is all about! 💛

🚒 Safety Day at YBR Norwalk was a huge success! 🚒

A few weeks ago, our children had the exciting opportunity to explore a fire truck and meet local firefighters who taught them about fire safety and their important role in our community.

At Yellow Brick Road, we believe Safety Day is an important opportunity to promote awareness, confidence, and learning while helping children connect with the first responders who serve our community. ✨

Jamie Balentine recently shared this reflection, and it perfectly captures what leadership at Yellow Brick Road is all about:

"Adventures. That's the word I'd use for this job! Being a Regional Director for Yellow Brick Road means I get to work alongside incredible leaders, educators, families, and team members across three states. One day it's strategy development. The next I'm cuddling babies, driving the bus for a field trip full of kiddos, or celebrating my teams' accomplishments and all the fun in between, right down to the kids chanting my name when I walk through the door. I'm proud to say this is my job."

Many children are preparing for new classrooms, new routines, and new milestones. Whether it's a child's first experience in a classroom or a transition to preschool or Pre-K, these changes can bring excitement, curiosity, and big feelings.

We know that a successful transition starts with helping children feel safe, confident, and connected. Here are a few ways families can support their child as they prepare for a new school year:

Talk positively about the transition
Children take cues from the adults around them. Talk about the exciting things ahead—new friends, new activities, and opportunities to learn.

Practice familiar routines
A consistent bedtime, morning routine, and goodbye ritual can help children feel more prepared and secure when school begins.

Encourage independence
Small steps like putting on a backpack, cleaning up toys, washing hands, or making choices help children build confidence and self-reliance.

Create opportunities for connection
Relationships are the foundation of early learning. Meeting teachers, exploring a classroom, and becoming familiar with a new environment can make a big difference.

Quality early childhood education is about more than preparing children academically. Preschool and Pre-K programs help children develop social-emotional skills, independence, curiosity, and a love of learning that will support them for years to come.

🎵 Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around… 🧸

Our Exploring Preschool classroom in Altoona had the BEST time learning about personal space this week using hula hoops during circle time!

Each little one got their own hoop, and as they sang and moved, they practiced giving their friends room to play, dance, and be themselves. It was such a simple activity — but watching them understand boundaries and respect each other's space? That's the magic. ✨

Social-emotional learning starts SO early, and moments like these help our kiddos build:
💛 Self-awareness
💛 Respect for others
💛 Positive friendships

We love finding creative, hands-on ways to teach skills that will last a lifetime.
