Senior Spotlight: Jackson Overholser, Class of 2026

From nervous first steps as a freshman to a confident senior ready for what’s next, this Warrior’s journey is all about growth, resilience, and finding his path.

Walking into high school for the first time felt overwhelming—but with support from family, friends, and teachers, he quickly found his footing. From an undefeated freshman football season to building lasting friendships, he made the most of every moment while learning that success takes time and effort.

Now as a senior, he reflects on how far he’s come—not just academically, but as a person. Through challenges, hard work, and perseverance, he’s built a strong mindset and a clear sense of direction.

His biggest takeaway? Growth doesn’t happen overnight—but with effort, resilience, and the willingness to learn, anything is possible.

🌟 Senior Spotlight: Byegarys Khuangans, Class of 2026

From Mongolia to Norwalk, Beygarys’ senior’s journey is a powerful story of growth, courage, and self-discovery.
Arriving in the U.S. for his final year, he stepped into a completely new school system, culture, and way of learning. What started as a focus on academics quickly became something more—an opportunity to challenge himself beyond the classroom. Taking on rigorous AP courses, adapting to independent learning, and pushing his own limits, he proved that growth comes from embracing the unfamiliar.

Determined to experience American high school life to the fullest, he joined football with no prior experience–quickly finding not just a team, but a community. Later, through Black Shirts, he discovered the power of teamwork behind the scenes, learning responsibility, adaptability, and what it truly means to support others so they can shine.

Along the way, he faced challenges—homesickness, setbacks, and moments of doubt—but chose to keep moving forward. Whether trying new sports, committing to strength training, or simply stepping outside his comfort zone, he embraced every new opportunity.

His biggest takeaway? Growth doesn’t come from staying where you’re comfortable—it comes from daring to try what you don’t know.

Senior Spotlight: Yael Contreras Espinoza

From arriving in a new country just a year ago to walking across the stage as a graduate, Yael’s journey is one defined by resilience, growth, and determination.

Adjusting to life in the United States wasn’t easy—new language, new culture, new school—but Yael faced every challenge head-on. Through hard work and persistence, he strengthened his English, built meaningful relationships, and found his place in a new community.

Along the way, he discovered the power of stepping out of his comfort zone—whether through wrestling, volunteering, or becoming a leader in his church youth group. These experiences didn’t just shape his high school years—they helped him grow into a confident, self-aware, and compassionate young man.

Now, with goals of working, saving, and continuing his education—possibly in economics or financial analytics—Yael is just getting started.

We are proud of you, Yael. Your hard work, courage, and growth have truly paid off. The future is yours. 🎉

This week we are excited to recognize Jorge Gonzales* as our Warrior of the Week! Jorge truly models what it means to be a lifelong learner and a positive member of our school community.

Mrs. Harris shared, *””Jorge is an excellent model of a lifelong learner. He collaborates with peers, perseveres, and is very reflective. He is willing to help classmates, share his insights from experiences in his prior district that positively impact my teaching, and is always so kind and positive! Prom will be held on Saturday, April 18th at the Blank Park Zoo from 8:00PM-11:00PM.
NO ENTRY AFTER 9:30 PM

Prom Tickets go on Sale Monday, March 30th, 2026
Tickets are $35 each (covers the dance only, does not cover after prom)

Tickets will be available for purchase online ONLY until 11:59 pm on April 17th

Tickets can only be purchased by NHS Juniors/Seniors.
