The Marshall Center is coming together with many others to officially commemorate Juneteenth (Freedom Day, Liberation Day, Jubilee Day) - June 19th, 2022. Juneteenth is now officially a federal holiday.
We want to recognize the impact this day has on the African-American community as it reminds us of the history of injustice for our Black community members. We encourage you to learn more.

Nov 4th @ 5pm: Poetry-based art movements have functioned as an important locus of community organizing and political discourse across both Puerto Rico and the U.S. since at least the 1930s. In this interactive workshop, scholar-activist-poet Dr. Melinda González will perform poems, facilitate a poetry writing workshop, and discuss the role of poetry spaces in disaster recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria across the Puerto Rican diaspora.
