Here is a great opportunity for Women STEM graduates. The Helen Fellowship is a paid one-year residency for post-baccalaureate women to devote time immersed in computational scientific research and educational outreach at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York City.
How will you spend MLK Day? Will it be a day of service? Will you read a favorite passage or attend a breakfast celebration honoring Dr. King's contributions? We are looking forward to our MLK Legacy community Celebration at Wheaton! We hope you can join us!
Join us for Diversity Day tomorrow! Students created this great video about the importance of talking and listening together! That's what this day is about -

This article made me question how much would be enough when we are thinking of training, classes, workshops and dialogues related to diversity and inclusion.

We are having civil rights crisis. We cannot wait anymore. #MLKLegacy @adamjohnfoss

The Marshall Center exists to affirm unique identities, to build a community that draws from them and to cultivate leaders who will introduce to the world the value of human diversity.

TAKEOVER TIME!!! The Marshall Center, Counseling Center, and Global Ed have teamed up with students to send you well wishes and positivity during finals. We wanted the opportunity to showcase the beauty of sending love, support, and affirmation through language. Check out Jimun Jeong’s ‘23 video and stay tuned for more!

Korean to English Translation:

Hello.
This is Jimun Jeong from the Class of 2023, majoring in International Relations.

Amid an ongoing pandemic, another semester is coming to an end. Although this semester was a lot busier and sometimes difficult/tiring compared to other semesters, the fact that this semester is coming to an end cheers me up.

I find comfort and happiness in small things in the middle of a busy life. I feel happy and comforted when I take a walk on the school campus at sunset, meet my friends and talk, call my parents before the day ends. Of course, everyone's happiness and comfort are different but I hope you could also find happiness and comfort from small things in your busy life like I do.

I hope that you will take the upcoming exams well and finish this semester well/strong.
Thank you.

Please share this information campus-wide and contact Kayla Berrios at [email protected] with questions and to sign up! #hateisavirus

We are so incredibly honored to have worked with DEAL (Diversity, Equity & Access Leadership) and our Wheaton community to donate books by and about the Black community. This #ThankfulThursday we'd like to say thank you to the Marshall Center for Intercultural Learning at Wheaton College, MA for their recent book drive for our Clubs!

Anti-blackness and hate has no place here. As we continue to reflect on the act of violence that occurred just last week, the Marshall Center staff wanted to send a clear message of solidarity. If you know anything about the perpetrator, we ask that you please use one of our systems of reporting. We have linked the bias incident report in our bio for easy access. We encourage our community members to sign up to attend our discussion space on Wednesday, March 3rd from 5-6 PM EST. These acts of bias will not be tolerated. We are here to offer support and will continue to stand by our our students.

Is It Time To Say R.I.P. To 'P.O.C.'? : Code Switch

Just read this article today and I saw the Center for Social Justice and Community Impact posted this. Makes for a good discussion!

npr.org Suffice it to say, we use the term "POC" a lot on Code Switch. But critiques of the initialism — and the popularization of the term "BIPOC" — caused us to ask: Should we retire POC? Or is there use in it yet?
