Did you know? Wheaton College Massachusetts has a 20-year relationship with The Posse Foundation. This weekend, over 100 students, faculty and staff will be attending a Posse Plus retreat. Wheaton has 40 current Posse scholars and about 120 alumni.

We were able to honor Indigenous stories by learning their history, traditions, songs, and dances. The Marshall Center and PAC want to thank everyone who supported and attended our programs!! If you would like to learn more about Annawon’s work and advocacy we encourage you to reach out, educate yourself and those around you, and advocate for Indigenous history.

It was a great weekend of activities for Indigenous People's Heritage Month. Our awesome dialogue facilitators led a thoughtful discussion and later we visited the Bridgewater State Pow Wow. More to come later this week!

I want to remind the community about our Teach-In on Engaging with the Other" on Thursday, October 10th from 2-5 PM starting in the Cole Memorial Chapel. This Teach-In will allow us to come together to practice deep listening, sharing and constructive dialogue and will require us, faculty, staff, and student participants to commit to the full 3 hour program. It may not take the full three hours but we do need to start together in the Chapel at 2. Please join us!

Two Years After Hurricane Maria: A reflection by Wheaton students who have seen its impacts firsthand.

In the summer of 2019, Wheaton students were supported by a Mellon Foundation Grant to travel throughout Puerto Rico and learn about gender violence and reconstruction post hurricane Maria. Come to see and hear about the work of students in the course Disaster and Reconstruction led by Professor M.Gabriela Torres and Dean Raquel Ramos on the two year anniversary of Hurricane Maria's landfall in Puerto Rico.
