Well, it was one and done again this year at Masters worlds. I have long since learned that at this level you just can’t make any mistakes at all. One bad hand position got me out of position and cost me the entire match. It’s always different watching videos of people versus actually competing with them and you realize that black belts are just pretty damn good no matter what their ages are all these guys have cardio just as good as mine and are just as strong and probably a little bit more technical than me right now. 

Win or lose it’s still a great time and it’s always enjoyable to get to know your opponents after the matches. It’s one of the things that so few people realize. You really form a bond with the people that you were trying to murder on the mat because you’re all out there for the same reason and at the end of the day have mutual respect for each other because you know how damn hard this sport is.
