"Wellspring/Cori Terry and Dancers has joined forces with Aurora and Antheia, a female trio of instrumentalist/improvisers, to present "Tendrils: Spring Concert of Dance," running May 17-19 at the Wellspring Theatre. It grew out of a conversation between two Coris: choreographer/founder Cori Terry and multi-genre violinist Cori Somers, co-founder of The Clover Room. Their friendship developed with an earlier dance collaboration with The Red Sea Pedestrians in 2013.

Cori Somers, cellist Laurie Jarski and percussionist Carolyn Koebel began creating their own unique music as performer/coaches at an event Jarski created called Women Play Instruments On The Land. At WMUK with Cara Lieurance, the three musicians, along with Cori Terry and Wellspring's executive director Kate Yancho, talk about how the music, choreography, sets, costumes and lighting are coming together for this seasonally-inspired program of original dance and music. Somers, Jarski and Koebel take out their instruments and perform some of the music." -NPR

Good afternoon! We're looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming Blues Aside concert experience, Friday, 8:00 p.m., April 26 at BMC The Annex at Broughton Music and Art Center (Northville). Amazing artists, Carolyn Anne Koebel & Cori Beth Somers (of our newly formed Aurora & Antheia ensemble), Brad Russell-BAsS iN Yo FaCe!, and Marisa Bianan will share their amazing contributions to all of the original 'Art Folk Songs' & improvs we will be performing that night. If the weather is favorable, we will perform out in the courtyard. All of the original songs we will be performing have been written over the years spanning from 2008 to 2024, after a hiatus from songwriting since 1982 (Wow 26 years away from songwriting!), but not a hiatus from music. Becoming a cellist and instrumental composer has greatly influenced how my songwriting that has developed since then. Much of our songs speak to our inner landscapes of hope, passion and the nature of our relationships.

Well I just recently found a vhs copy of my 1993 composition recital and had digitized. I'm still waiting for the original beta vhs to be digitized in Las Vega. So far, three pieces have been added to my YouTube channel. This performance was held in the Multi-Media Room at WMU University's Dalton Center, Tuesday, April 13, 1993. This piece was performed at NWMF's Atrium Parlor performances in 2023. I will post that performance once edited. Thanks to all the diligent preparation by Kathleen Hess- violin & Dorothy Vogel- piano.
