STEM Night at Cleveland Charter HS with the CSUN Chemistry & Biochemistry Club ❄️🔬

We made colorful “fake snow” using a superabsorbent polymer and food coloring. Even a tiny pinch of polymer can absorb hundreds of times its own mass in water, so adding water turned a small amount of powder into a whole cup of fluffy snow in seconds.

Then we added salt and watched it shrink and release water as the polymer stopped holding onto it! Enjoy the videos.

CSUN Chemistry & Biochemistry Club is hosting a CV Workshop from the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) for students who want to strengthen their professional materials.

Learn the key differences between a resume and a CV, when to use each, and how to structure your experiences effectively. We will also cover practical strategies for making your CV clear, competitive, and aligned with research, internships, and graduate school applications.

Open to students at all levels. Join us to refine your documents and position yourself more strategically for upcoming opportunities.

The movie of the night is a chemistry themed romcom, Flubber!

We’re throwing it back to elementary school, decorating bags and exchanging candy! Bags and decorations will be provided but please bring candy to participate in the exchange.
