SCHOLARSHIPS! LOTS & LOTS of SCHOLARSHIPS!!!
If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to review available scholarships on the https://csun.academicworks.com website. There are several thousands of dollars in scholarships specifically available for CSM majors right now. Sneak preview attached, but I couldn't fit them all. So check online for all available scholarships.
Students are encouraged to self-nominate through the myMatadorScholarships (AcademicWorks) system. You can even request a Letter of Recommendation directly through the site. Make your profile once, and you can apply to multiple scholarships.
Most scholarship deadlines are February 28th/29th so there's still time to request a letter of recommendation.

Interested candidates are invited to apply online athttp://smdp.icpdprograms.org/. Successful student applicants will receive fellowships to attend one of the programs and virtually all expenses for the one-year SMDP are covered. We are now accepting applications. Special consideration is given to how many weeks prior to the April 1, 2019, deadline students apply.
Ethnically diverse university students and recent graduates in technical fields are invited to apply (Hispanic Americans, Pacific Islanders, African Americans and American Indians). To qualify, applicants must be interested in a career in biotechnology, medical technology or consumer healthcare industries and seek to receive career mentoring and training from industry leaders.
During SMDP, Scholars will be paired with industry mentors to learn about career opportunities in industry and receive career development coaching. As part of the program, Scholars and their mentors create personalized mentoring plans, which they implement over the course of the year following the training session. The mentor-mentee teams communicate regularly by telephone and email, aided by ICPD staff and the internet-based SMDP Mentoring Portal.
