Congratulations to the Wildcat Battalion Raider team. They competed in their first ever Raider competition and brought home one first place trophy and two third place trophies from the Southern Preparatory Academy’s annual event. The handwork of these 14 cadets and the guidance and instruction of COL Long enabled the team to be successful at today’s event.

Today we hosted our first drill competition, in many years for JROTC, at County High. The cadets competed hard and were able to earn a few trophies, which reflected the hard work of those placing teams. The trophies and awards were:

Physical Fitness: 1st Place
Rifle: 2nd Place
Platoon Drill: 1st Place
Squad Drill: 2nd Place
Physical Fitness Top Male: Zy’Rion Anderson
Physical Fitness Top Female: Luciana Miguel
Rifle Top Male: Gabe Dunkling

The cadets competed at Bryant High School in their annual Stampede Drill Competition., yesterday, hosted by Bryant High School Marine Corps JROTC. We took first place in the Squad Drill (Unarmed) competition. Congratulations to those cadets in their first-place win. The outcome wasn't what we wanted, but it was what we expected as we continue to improve the program.

Congratulations to the cadets on a job well done today at the Ultinate Venturing Challenge Fall 25. They competed hard and the results of their efforts were the following, out of a 7 program, 5 event, competition:

1st Place Physical Fitness Team
1st Place Cadet Challenge Team
1st Place Overall Program
Ironman Award

Come out tonight and support your JROTC program by taking part in the "soon to be infamous" incident at the OK Zombie Corral. We are located beside the tennis courts. Everyone will leave a winner. One ticket equals five attempts at stopping the Zombies Cowboy's from recharging before another night on the town.

Some of our JROTC students had the privilege of participating in a program honoring Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Earl Gregory at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park on the 106th anniversary of his exploits on a battlefield in France during the First World War. The event was hosted by Tuscaloosa American Legion Post 123 and Senator Gerald Allen.

The Tuscaloosa County High School Army JROTC provided the color guard and a flag raising team to support the opening ceremony for the new Chick-Fil-A in Northport on April 23, 2025.
