APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!

This new opportunity has been eight months in the making. Parenting Communities of Leelanau County , the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department , local childcare providers, and community partners have all worked together to make ChildShare a reality.

ChildShare is a new pilot childcare scholarship program for eligible Leelanau County families with children ages 0–6 enrolled in participating licensed childcare programs.

The program provides a $30 a day scholarship that is paid directly to participating licensed childcare providers on behalf of eligible families.

Families may qualify if:
• They live in Leelanau County
• Their child is age 6 or younger
• Their child attends a participating licensed childcare provider
• Their household income is at or below 225% of the Federal Poverty Level

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

It was such a pleasure having Parenting Communities of Leelanau County host playgroups at our school this year. Seeing the connections the little ones and their caregivers made throughout their time together was something we loved fostering at NPS.

Playgroups are over for the school year, but there are still opportunities to get involved with Parenting Communities over the summer including their Family Street Fair coming up on Saturday, June 20 at the Lake Leelanau Montessori.

We can't wait to see you there!

THROWBACK THURSDAY

Here are some pictures to make you smile today!

Just before school got out, Mrs. Denoyer's kindergarten class studied the life cycle of a chicken. Three out of the four eggs in their incubator ended up hatching. And once the chicks were big enough, the students got to observe them out of the cage.

The room was filled with giggles, smiles, and peeps as the chicks stole the show. They ate from the kids' hands, jumped on legs and laps, and hopped around the floor.

The chicks will now move from the classroom to Principal Pete Morio's farm where they will be well taken care of and live a happy life.

SUPPORT NORTHPORT'S CLASS OF 2030

Heading out to Music in the Park this summer? Stop by and get a snack from NPS Class of 2030! They will be set up by the marina with soda, water, juice, and candy for sale. The money raised will go towards their senior trip.
