Attention students ages 16–18: The IGNITE Student Summer Job Fair will be held Friday, May 1 at TCTA! This is a great opportunity, especially for students interested in co-op next year, to connect with local employers hiring for summer jobs. You’ll have the chance to interview with multiple businesses, explore job opportunities, and make valuable connections. There is no cost to attend, and transportation will be provided. If you’re serious about getting a job, don’t miss it! Register using the 👉 IGNITE Student Summer Job Fair link and check your email regularly for permission forms and interview prep information. The University of Alabama has launched Crimson Compass, a new initiative designed to help high school students prepare for college success through ACT readiness and college-planning support. With standardized test scores required for UA admissions beginning with the Fall 2028 freshman class, these programs provide an early and helpful foundation.

Students can participate in Tide to Success, a free, self-paced online course available to Alabama students, or register for UA ACTivate, a short summer residential experience that combines test preparation with a preview of college life. Both options are designed to build confidence, skills and a clearer path to higher education. Note that UA ACTivate is for high school sophomores and juniors, aged 16 and older.

The Alabama Power Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors residing within Alabama Power Company service territory who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
