Traffic Pattern Update: Floyd Barksdale Middle School

As we continue settling into the new traffic pattern around Floyd Barksdale Middle School, here are a few helpful reminders​.

The attached traffic pattern on Mulkey applies during active school zone hours (7:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.).

• When exiting the student pick-up/drop-off line, you must turn right onto Mulkey Road.
• Drivers traveling westbound on Mulkey Road will need to continue past Pecan Parkway and use the designated U-turn to access the line leading to the school entrance.
• Please follow traffic signs and directions from school staff and allow extra time during arrival and dismissal as everyone gets accustomed to the new pattern.
• Drop students off within the designated drop-off/pick-up car line. Do not allow students to exit the vehicle in traffic.
• Stay off your cell phone and keep your focus on the road.

Thank you for your patience as we work through the first few weeks of the new school year. We appreciate the cooperation of our residents, families, and school district partners as we work together to keep traffic moving and, most importantly, keep students safe.
