This was several years back. This mare, Gypsy, was the smartest horse with a real pleaser additive! I miss her and my horse life. Getting old and having to let go of so much was hard. But I’m happier and healthier now. I hope one day I can live that life again.

"In June 2025, we competed at the Colorado 4-H FCS Bowl Contest and proudly earned second place in the state. Because of our success at the State 4-H Contest, we were given the incredible opportunity to advance and compete at the National LifeSmarts Championship this April in Orlando, Florida. We are honored to represent Adams County 4-H and Colorado on the national stage and are excited for the chance to showcase the knowledge and skills we have worked so hard to develop.
LifeSmarts is an educational program that provides students with the critical knowledge they will need to be successful after they leave high school. Students study Personal Finance, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, the Environment, Technology, Workforce Preparation, and Health and Safety. This is an amazing opportunity to compete for scholarships and represent our community on a national stage."

This was a day of accomplishment for this young lady. One day her mother approached me to ask me if she thought that she could learn to ride independently. I said, "I believe she can." Her autism diagnosis had others believing that she was handicapped and couldn't do it. However, she proved them all wrong. She loves horses more than anything. She reminds me of She even dresses like her. This was a Special Olympics Equestrian event that required a leader. However, we all were so very proud of her.
