Tom Smith's Forge Martial Arts Academy Established in 1995, we teach classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kempo, and Krav Maga. We are non ego and work together to achieve your goals.

Forge Martial Arts Academy has been in business for over 25 years teaching martial arts to all ages. We offer classes in Kempo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Krav Maga, and we have a great kids grappling program. We hold workshops specifically geared toward women's self defense and host anti-bullying seminars for schools. Our focus at Forge Martial Arts Academy is teaching skills that can be applied in

real combat situations. Our head instructor, Master Tom Smith, is a native of North Branford and has been studying martial arts since he was 8. He has extensive knowledge in many forms of martial arts, holds a 6th degree black belt in Kempo, is a 4th level Kapap Krav Maga instructor – one of only two in the United States — and trains under the well known Avi Nardia from Israel. He holds a black belt in Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is also a certified NRA instructor. He is highly trained in firearm use and firearm safety and offers monthly pistol permit classes. Forge Martial Arts Academy is a 3000 square foot facility on Middletown Ave in Northford, conveniently located near 91. We are easily accessible by surrounding towns, like East Haven, New Haven, Durham, Wallingford, North Haven, and Guilford. We promote a friendly, welcoming environment, challenging you to YOUR limits. Martial arts is very beneficial. It increases confidence, improves coordination and concentration, teaches self control and discipline, and promotes a healthy lifestyle by staying active and fit.
