Dear Nordonia Families,

This is a reminder that the Nordonia Hills City School District is hosting a virtual town hall meeting tonight, Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. via Facebook Live. The administrative team and I will answer questions related to the reopening plan. The purpose of the meeting is to help you decide which option will work best for your family, not to debate the merits of the plan.

The first part of the town hall meeting will involve us reviewing these most frequently asked questions and answers: Reopening FAQs

Afterwards, we will address any additional questions you have.

To attend the meeting, you can find the Nordonia Schools page here: https://www.facebook.com/NordoniaHillsSchools. The video will remain on the Nordonia Schools page indefinitely, and will also be converted to a YouTube video that will be posted on our district website by tomorrow afternoon.

Dear Nordonia Families,

PLAN RELEASED

At a special meeting July 23, the Nordonia Hills City School District Board of Education approved the Fall 2020 Reopening Plan. The plan was developed through long and arduous discussions involving administrators, teachers, parents, and public health officials. We understand not every part of the plan will appeal to every family. We are grateful for your support of us as professionals who care about the safety of our children and staff, and we respect any differing opinions you may have.

Under the plan, if Summit County is in Code Orange or Red, students will return to school two days per week. In Code Yellow, students will return five days per week. In Code Purple, students will participate in remote instruction at home five days per week. At its September 28, 2020 regular meeting, the Board of Education will review the progress of the plan and make adjustments as appropriate.

Nordonia Reopening Questions 07/21/2020

Email from Dr Clark re school opening:

Dear Nordonia Families,

At the Monday, July 20, regular Board of Education meeting I presented a draft plan on reopening school in the fall. I will give the same presentation today at 1 p.m. on Facebook Live, which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/NordoniaHillsSchools/

For your reference, here is the PowerPoint Presentation from the meeting: Reopening Plan PowerPoint

And here is the complete DRAFT of the plan: Nordonia Reopening Plan DRAFT

The Board will hold a special meeting on Thursday, July 23 at 6 p.m. via Zoom to discuss the DRAFT and offer me feedback. I will take the Board’s feedback, finalize the plan, and release it no later than August 14. It is possible that the Board may approve the plan at the July 23 meeting. We do not want to make a hasty decision, but we will need as much time as possible to work out the logistics and families will need time to decide what option they will choose for their children.

The login information for the Zoom meeting is here:

https://us04web.zoom.us/j/76832791761?pwd=a0lRZFpsNitpY2dzSjFkdEJldjN1UT09

Meeting ID: 768 3279 1761

Passcode: m0n5C4

As soon as the official reopening plan is released, I will schedule a “Virtual Town Hall Meeting” in which my administrative team and I will answer all questions related to the reopening plan. We will also create a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document that we will share with the public and post on our website. After you have reviewed the DRAFT plan, you may start submitting questions here: https://tinyurl.com/NordoniaReopeningQuestions
