SGA is partnering with the Institute of Freedom and Community to host Dinner with 6 Strangers, an event encouraging St. Olaf students to connect with people they may not have otherwise met.
This event will be held on October 21st from 6:30-8PM in the Valhalla Dining Room. We will ask students to fill out a questionnaire and will place them at tables with potential strangers.
IFC and Lutheran Center fellows and SGA representatives will work together to come up with a list of discussion topics for the evening about elections, politics, and civic engagement. The Institute of Freedom and Community will provide an array of desserts at this event for students attending the event! 🍦
What are you passionate about? When was the last time you surprised yourself? What did the people who raised you teach you about love? Has a stranger ever changed your life?
Thinking about answering these questions to a group of people may seem scary. As college students growing up with a vast array of technology, we have pretty much mastered the art of connecting with other people online. However, in-person communication has become, for many people, something to be avoided or kept at surface level. This event encourages us to challenge this fear and connect with people face to face.
