Dr. Zovinka and Mrs. Koenigsberg applied and were approved for a 2nd year of the Science Coaches program through the American Chemical Society. Dr. Zovinka returned this week to do a viscosity lab with the afternoon classes. He discussed how viscosity is important in industries like making paint and ketchup. The students used Zahn cups to gather data and calculate to viscosity of various oils.
A huge thanks to Dr. Zovinka for generously sharing his time and expertise!

2026 Pink Out gear is now available to order!

Orders can be turned in to your child's homeroom teacher for the elementary school and to Mrs. Baker at the junior/senior high school.

All orders are due back by September 18th. Checks can be made payable to NCHS. A date for Pink Out will be announced for October.

We will be celebrating a Coal Bowl Homecoming on Friday, September 25th during halftime of the football game where we will crown the king and queen. Students will have their Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 26th.👑🏈

It's that time of the year again! Alumni Night for Marching Band and Cheerleaders. During the September 11th game against United Valley, come be a part of the band or cheer on the team once again. Student council is sponsoring a donation drive for the local animal rescues that helped in the cat hoarding case last week in Northern Cambia. (See attached flyer.)

All homerooms in the elementary and junior/senior high are encouraged to participate. There will be a prize for the top homeroom at each of those levels!

Items will be collected through September 9. Contact Mrs. Baker with any questions.

Attention NC students in grades 9-12:

Homecoming 2026 is upon us and we want to remind you of some important dates!

Friday September 25th is Homecoming at halftime of the football game where king and queen will be announced.

Saturday September 26th is the HOCO Dance from 7-9pm at Contres Greer Social Hall

Tickets will be on sale for $10 each and will be available from Mrs. Baker in September as well as guest forms for non-NC and graduated students.
