As many of you know, there is a proposal to demolish our shopping center in order for Pulte Homes to build 3 six-story condominium buildings with minimal commercial space. A Public Hearing is being held tomorrow night at 6 p.m., Techny Prairie Activity Center, 180 Anets Drive in Northbrook. We want to encourage all of our customers to come out and help us oppose this plan. Bring your knitting!

More from our Maine Knitting Retreat… from swatching up a storm to s’ mores, knitting in the Adirondack chairs by the water… great memories. Our tour of the island included the Sea Glass Beach, a highlight. Our last evening group shot .. what a wonderful group! Then getting ready to head back home. A big THANK YOU to David and Gregory for their thoughtful planning and organizing!

We made our way to the Inn at Diamond Cove for our Maine Knitting Retreat. It took a 30 minute ferry ride from Portland and we arrived to a welcome reception and dinner, all 23 of us. A good night’s sleep had us well rested for a day-long class on “reading our stitches”. Swatches to be posted later. While most of the day was rainy, the clouds broke in the evening for this rainbow.
