(2/2) What a night for our St. Norbert School Crusaders!

On Friday, October 2, the SNS community came together for one of our most beloved traditions, the 2026 Crusader Team Challenge!

From creative team names and colorful costumes to exciting challenges and plenty of cheering, CTC brought out the very best of our school spirit. Our Eighth Grade captains led the way, encouraging their younger teammates and showing us what leadership, teamwork, and friendship look like at SNS.

While the competition is always fun, CTC is about so much more than winning. It’s about building friendships across grade levels, leading with kindness, celebrating our community, and creating lasting memories.

Congratulations to all of this year’s teams, including our Champions (Pink Tuff Tung Tung Cheetahs), our Spirit Award winners (Lavender Leopards), and Parade Pride Award winners (Green Rivers).

A HUGE thank you to our incredible volunteers, teachers, faculty, staff, families, donors, and supporters who helped make this year’s event possible. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and hard work are what make traditions like CTC so special.

The Preschoolers in Mrs. Oetking’s class welcomed a special visitor this morning! Dr. Begley, one of our very own SNS moms and a pediatrician at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, stopped by to give our youngest Crusaders a glimpse into the world of medicine and share what it’s like to be a doctor.

What a wonderful opportunity for our Preschoolers to learn from someone right here in our SNS community. A HUGE thank you to Dr. Begley for sharing her time, knowledge, and enthusiasm with our students. We love seeing our SNS families bring learning to life in the classroom!

We had a very special guest reader visit our Preschool class today! Former SNS Principal Mrs. Brennen returned to St. Norbert School with her husband, Mr. Brennen, to read some stories to their granddaughter’s class.

While visiting, the Brennens had a chance to see all the exciting changes at SNS, reconnect with old friends, and spend some special time with our youngest Crusaders.

It was wonderful to welcome them back. Once a Crusader, always a Crusader!

Congratulations to our Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team on a fantastic win at Monday’s Varsity Night. SNS Eighth Graders, teaming up with our friends from Sacred Heart School in Winnetka, gave us plenty to cheer about!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the team. A special shoutout to our dedicated coaches, supportive parents, enthusiastic fans, and hardworking student-athletes for making this season such a success.

The season isn’t over yet, and we can’t wait to see what’s next! Congratulations, Vaders!

Students in our Nature Appreciation Fall elective class have been busy with a weeks-long experiment testing the foraging behavior of squirrels on our school grounds!

The class set up three bins, each containing 75 sunflower seeds, and placed them in locations where they expected to see plenty of squirrel activity.

As it turns out, the big tree near the flagpole in front of our school is a popular spot for squirrels to forage! The area under a bush near the Grace Hall doors was popular on the first day but was largely ignored on the following days. The bin in the school garden attracted some hungry squirrels, but not all the seeds were eaten.

The class will now analyze these results to better understand squirrel behavior. Along the way, students have enjoyed watching the squirrels’ antics and learning about their typical behaviors during this time of year!

⛳️ Perfect weather. Great golf. Amazing school community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday's annual St. Norbert School Golf Outing such a success! We are grateful for our donors, sponsors, alumni, golfers, volunteers, and all of you who support St. Norbert School.

Special thanks to Avery Garcia-Glass, Mike Daly, Mike Berg, and the entire planning committee for their hard work and vision. After a nearly perfect day on the course, it was wonderful to gather for a fantastic meal and celebrate our shared commitment to Catholic education.

Thank you as well to Glencoe Golf Club for hosting us and for their exceptional hospitality. The newly renovated clubhouse is beautiful, and we encourage everyone to check it out when it opens to the public.

Thank you for supporting our students and our school! 💙⛳️☀️

Last Thursday, our SNS Eighth Graders headed downtown for a Chicago River Architecture Tour! The adventure began with an after school Metra ride into the city, followed by an incredible cruise showcasing Chicago’s beautiful skyline and architectural treasures. The weather couldn’t have been better for an afternoon on the river.

A huge THANK YOU to our chaperones and to the generous SNS parent who sponsored this extraordinary experience and made such a memorable outing possible for our students!

Beyond the beautiful buildings and breathtaking views, the best part was the chance to connect, laugh, and make memories together during their final year at SNS!
