The Belchertown Police Department is looking for dedicated officers to join the team! This full-time patrol position offers the chance to serve the community while building a career across a wide range of specialty assignments, including the Detective Bureau, Drone Unit, K9 Unit, Crisis Intervention Team, DART Unit, Comfort Dog, School Resource Officer, and Court Officer.
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
POST Certified / Full-Time MPTC Academy trained
Valid Massachusetts Driver's License
Valid Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC)
𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:
Starting Salary: $59,342.40 - $75,379.20 (6 Steps) (base rate, depending on experience)
Ample opportunity for Overtime and Details (2026 - $67.46/hr - 2027 - $71.10/hr - 2028 $74.78/hr
Education Incentive ($6,000 - $9,000 - $11,500) by 2028 ($10% - 18% - 20%)
Four and two schedule with shift differential
Fifteen paid holidays, three personal days, up to eighty hours earned compensatory time
Annual clothing allowance of $1,500
Annual fitness incentive of $700
