UPDATE: January 2019

Due to safety issues with the kiln, the Smith Ceramics Club is currently closed. We're working with the college to resolve the issue but don't have a timeline for when we'll reopen. Any information regarding the reopening of the club will be posted to this page.

We did a bisque fire and glaze fire this past weekend, so please stop by to pick up your beautiful pottery!

Hello everyone!

If you were previously in the ceramics club we welcome you to join again and pay the $10 due for this semester. If you are new we are so excited to have you!!!! The ceramics club is really an open studio. We do not have structured meetings except to pay dues this THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AT 7PM (you only need to come to one). At this meeting you will learn about the studio and the plans for the club, including exciting workshops.

These meetings are extremely important to learn about the procedures of the club and the ways in which you should be using the studio. There will be office hours emailed out soon in case you cannot make it to either of these meetings and would like to pay dues and join.

I hope to see all of you on either Thursday or Friday at 7pm in front of the ceramics studio (right next to Davis Ballroom and behind Capen) with $10 and some excitement for the coming semester!!!!!!!

Hello fellow ceramicists! There's a fresh batch of bisque fired pieces out of the kiln! (including all the elephants from the workshop two weeks ago) So come and glaze!

Hey ceramics club! We're doing a bisque firing (first of two firings) right now, so come in to glaze your pieces this coming week!

Hi Ceramics Club! In case you're having trouble finding us (we're harder to get to than Platform 9 3/4), check out this handy map and picture! We are on the second floor of 25 Henshaw Ave. directly behind Davis Ballroom.

We are OUT of clay at the moment and are hoping to restock in the next few days! We are going to get lots of white and red stoneware for you. Remember to always close the clay bags when not in use.

Also, we are going to do some firings - glaze and bisque - this weekend so it's not the best time to use the studio unless you want to feel like you're in a hot sauna. We'll let you know when everything is ready next week.

Our bisque fire is done so come and glaze your work!

Also, there will be a hand building workshop this Saturday at 2 pm in the studio (directly behind Davis Ballroom).

If you still haven't joined for the semester or just want to hang out with us, come to our studio hours: Thursday 1-2, 8-9 pm and Friday 1-2 pm.
