During the 2017 - 2018 school year, there was a series of on-campus retreats to foster connections between Smith students and alumnae of color.

The program was designed to educate and inspire Smith students in fostering inclusive communities, acting as allies for each other, celebrating the strength of our diverse community, and learning strategies for successfully navigating racism and bias at Smith and beyond.

A few of our ambassadors were wonderful members of the Diverse Smithies Series.

We're hoping we can have another retreat and have more Smithies involved.

Each year, the Alumnae House holds our very own First-year Orientation. Typically, we start off with bonding activities, then visit an awesome location (last year was a visit to Mass MoCA), and end with the new first-years getting to meet some alumnae.

It's always a great deal of fun every year and we absolutely love all the new students we get to meet - sometimes those students even become Student Ambassadors! 🥳🥳🥳

For this we're remembering the time the illustrious Smithereens sang for us at the Ring Ceremony.

We're extremely lucky to have an amazing group of Student Ambassadors who can perfectly represent Smith while being their true, complete selves!

In October 2018, two Ambassadors had the privilege to attend the Smith and Amherst Black Alumnae Reunion in Washington, DC and visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
