A history of what women wore: 'These clothes tell a story that has so often been ignored' In the basement of the Smith College theater building in Northampton, several rooms are filled with lockers packed tight with women's clothing. A portion of the thousands of dresses, pantsuits, petticoats and uniforms will be on display at the New York Historical Society starting Friday.
