From tiny caterpillars to beautiful butterflies 🐛 🦋 This spring our students watched in wonder as caterpillars transformed, grew, and finally took flight. And somehow, it feels like the perfect way to celebrate the last day of school. Over the course of this year, our children have grown too. They gained confidence, courage, kindness, friendships, and new wings of their own. Today we release these butterflies as a reminder that growth takes time, care, and a little bit of magic. Fly high! We can’t wait to see where your wings take you next!

🐣 From tiny cracks to fluffy chicks… what an egg-citing experience for our GFS community! 🐥✨

Our Kindergarten classroom became a hatchery as we incubated chick eggs and watched the miracle of new life unfold together. Students across the school stopped by throughout the process — eagerly observing, wondering, and cheering on each new arrival. 11 🐣 in total! 💚

There’s nothing quite like seeing learning come to life right before our eyes. 🌱🥚🐣

Sometimes the smallest gestures grow into something beautiful 🌺 This morning, each child selected a flower for their teachers, one by one, creating a meaningful bouquet filled with appreciation, kindness, and love. By the end of arrival, each teacher had a vase full of blooms to take home - a sweet reminder of the community we share 💐 Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

🌱 PreK Project-Based Learning Spotlight
This Week: Mrs. Lynch’s Class – 🪨 Rock stars in PreK!

Mrs. Lynch’s class transformed their curiosity about rocks into a hands-on Rock Investigation Project. Students explored a real rock collection, used a rock identification app to sort and categorize their findings, and learned about different types of rocks and minerals.

They also studied famous monoliths around the world, built cairns on the Peace Trail, created rock-inspired artwork, and made their own pet rocks.

Through this project, students are developing skills in observation, classification, creativity, and scientific inquiry — all while following their natural curiosity. From science to art to outdoor exploration, these young learners are proving that even rocks can spark big ideas! ✨
