🚃Some toys encourage language, social skills and collaboration like no other! Train and track play necessitates all of those skills.

🌿Although one may think of trains as a typical "indoor" toy, we ask why? We bring the indoors out and the outdoors in at Foothills Preschool so every child has choices in every space that feeds their needs!

Child led, process art with loose parts builds neural pathways using the child's own creativity! Teacher directed "craft projects" where the products all look the same teach children very little because the teacher does most of the work! Cutting slime with scissors may not look like much to us "grown-ups," but while the children are engaged in this activity they are working their hand muscles, developing fine motor skills and learning how to use scissors. 

Slime is also an engaging way to introduce preschoolers to early STEM concepts. It transforms standard chemistry and physics into hands-on sensory play. Rather than teaching complex molecular structures, the focus is on observing material properties, color mixing, and sensory exploration.
