Good Morning Tiverton,
Did you know that recent data suggests a high proportion of car seats are installed incorrectly, with some estimates reaching up to 90% of car seats having some type of misuse or incorrect installation. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) previously reported that nearly half (46%) of car seats were installed incorrectly, but more recent data from the National Digital Car Seat Check Form (NDCF) database found that 74% of inspected car seats were improperly installed or used in 2023.
This week is National Child Passenger Child Safety Week! Officers of the Tiverton Police Department certified in child passenger safety seat installation will be hosting a car seat checkpoint at Little Willow Daycare located at 983 Main Rd from 3-5:30pm.
If you are concerned whether or not your precious cargo is travelling safely, we would love the opportunity to put your mind at ease!
No appointment is necessary, just come to the checkpoint tomorrow between the times listed above!
