Is the Permanent School Fund Amendment a tax increase?

No.

It does not raise property taxes.
It does not raise income taxes.
It does not raise sales taxes.
It does not create a new tax.

Minnesota's Permanent School Fund already exists and has supported public education since 1858. This November, voters are being asked whether to modernize how annual distributions from that existing fund are calculated. That's it.

No new tax. No new education fund. A new distribution formula for an existing $2.3+ billion education asset.

Going to the state fair today? It's "I'm a Minnesota Kid" Day at the fair!

Swing by to say hi to our Executive Director, Matt Hillmann, and Dr. Carlondrea Hines, Superintendent of St. Louis Park Public Schools!

Stop by the booth at the corner of Wright Ave. and Underwood St. and join the “I’m a Minnesota Kid” experience. Kids and adults can add to the art wall, share their Minnesota public school story, take a photo, and celebrate the students, schools, and communities that help Minnesota kids rise.

Executive Director Hillmann will be at the booth until 3 pm, and then Assistant Executive Director Lori Zimmerman will be there from 3 - 7 pm! We'd love to see you out there!
