Get your hands dirty and your creativity flowing at this art-filled playdate for kids and their favorite grown-ups! Inspired by A Shared Journey: The Barkan Ceramics Collection, Clay Date invites families to come together for a joyful day of making. Explore the magic of ceramics through hands-on activities, unexpected materials, and live demonstrations, learning alongside local artists and RISD students as ideas take shape in clay through creative play and shared discovery.

Write Rhode Island Saturday Community Classes at School One. Cost is based on a sliding scale!

Write Rhode Island is hosting fun and engaging creative writing and visual art classes designed for students in grades 6–12 at School One on Saturdays in February.

Students choose from Sewing, Pop Up Books, Drawing, Comics, D&D, Magic The Gathering and more! These community classes are open to the public and designed for middle and high school students.

Each year, high schools across Rhode Island are invited to submit work from three outstanding art students into Jack Reed’s annual art competition. Works by Jaiden Divona, William Polouski and Jameson Scanlon were submitted this year. Congratulations for being Scituate’s top high school artists!

Always Learning Rhode Island is holding a "Beauty of Mathematics" Art Contest to showcase the natural creativity that emerges from the integration of mathematics and art. The contest is open to students at all levels—elementary, middle, and high school—whether they participate in in-school or out-of-school programs. K-12 art and math instructors are encouraged to hold contests in their schools.

Prizes will be awarded to both the winning students and instructors. The deadline for entries is May 14, 2025.
