Field report from Westconnaug Meadows: one mile traveled in two hours. (Lichens will do that to a schedule.)

Patrick led today’s Slow Motion Ecology: Lichens Up Close walk, showing us the features used to describe and identify lichens. We also found Black Oak Leaf, one of 34 creatures hidden across Rhode Island for the !

groups to observe fungi, learn where they grow, and collect selected specimens
for study.

At 1 PM, we’ll gather at the tables to sort our finds, compare features,
and work through identifications together.

All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Come for the walk or just the table ID session at 1 PM.
