This email concerns the Astronomy Day Event

Hello Fellow Stargazers:
I’ve been monitoring the weather very closely for tomorrow. It appears there will be rain and clouds most of the day with clearing maybe around 5:00 and decent by 7:00. And of course, this will likely change too.
So what does this mean? The most obvious thing is that the daytime solar observing (and Venus during the day) will most likely be canceled. We still have the telescope drawing and certainly folks will be showing up throughout the day wanting to talk telescopes and astronomy. But we don’t know how many and when they might show up. Also, as we just saw on our FB page (thanks Marcy!!!)), there’s John Scalzi from ABC 7 news talking about OUR event (BTW, all members should join our FB group). So we have to honor the media exposure, move ahead, and do the best we can.
I suggest that telescope operating members plan on helping with the nighttime observing. Perhaps arrive by 7:00. As far as the rest of the day, it’s a great unknown. Come when you like, we will adapt and make the most of it.
