Presenting Pieces for the First Time - Special guest speaker: Diane Hidy
APPI Monthly Meeting -- January 9 -- ONLINE
11:00am - 12:30pm
We kick off 2026 with a visit from internationally acclaimed Diane Hidy LIVE! from her studio in San Francisco, CA.
THIS Friday, APPI welcomes you to stay inside, skip the drive and join online at our usual meeting time to hear Diane's unique approach to Presenting Pieces for the First Time to our students. It is January and our students are returning from holiday break slightly off-schedule, under-practiced, and low-energy. Perhaps presenting something new will grab their attention and get your students re-engaged --- be sure you don't miss this session!
This meeting is online only - Zoom link will be provided in the Wednesday reminder for APPI members. Not an APPI member yet? Be sure to sign up on our website at https://www.appimn.org/

APPI Monthly Meetings are always FREE and open for all to experience and attend. For security purposes, if you would like to attend this meeting and are NOT yet an APPI member, we do ask that you please contact us at [email protected] to acquire the Zoom link.

Today, as Ukraine fearlessly and zealously fights Russia, which is bombing Ukrainian land and killing civilians, we call on everyone to support Ukraine and end this war. As a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, you can receive scores of music pieces by Ukrainian composers and perform them in support of Ukraine in your city.

Here is the link where you could find scores of ukrainian composers, so you could choose what fits to your programme better: https://ukrainianlive.org/ukrainian-scores

Sad day, friends.

Alfred Music is saddened to learn of the passing of beloved sacred piano music arranger Carol Tornquist. Church pianists and students alike have enjoyed her well-crafted, approachable arrangements. Over the course of her career she contributed over 60 favorite collections to the Alfred Music catalog. She will be missed.

Fridays in the Valley and the AATQ (Above Average Tuba Quartet) have just made the most difficult decision to cancel tonight's concert due to the dangerous weather conditions. With tubas traveling from as far off as Wisconsin, the livestream will also not be available so do not attempt to tune in tonight!

Missing that AATQ fix? They will be LIVE tomorrow at Boom Island Brewing Company at the Tuba Nutcracker Holiday Show!

One of the most festive evenings of the year, it's Tuba Nutcracker time! The Nutcracker never sounded so good.
The Above Average Tuba Quartet will deck the halls of Boom Island Saturday, December 11th 6pm-8:30pm with tunes from the Nutcracker and other holiday favorites

Don't forget to still give generously to the PRISM Holiday Shoppe. Our families are still in need of your generosity.

Profound apologies to all for any inconvenience,

Sue Ruby
