Seeking Teaching Assistant

About our school:
-School hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 2:00
-We follow Birdville ISD's calendar for school closings and holidays
-Our school year is from the end of August to the end May
-We serve children ages 12 months through 5 years
-We maintain low ratios, well below traditional state licensing ratio numbers
-We are a small, nonprofit, Christian school

About the position:
-Assistant positions are Tuesday and Thursday from 8:15 to 2:15
-A background check and resume are required with the application
-Applicant must be able to sit on the floor with children, stand for extended periods of time and lift at least 40 pounds
-This is an hourly paid position, starting at $9 per hour

Responsibilities:
-Assist classroom teacher(s) in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks
-Assist in providing individual and small-group instruction
-Prepare instructional materials
-Assist classroom teacher(s) in creating an environment conducive to learning
-Check student work for compliance with teachers' instructions

Requirements:
-Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
-Possess a teamwork mindset, strong communication skills, organization skills and problem-solving ability
-Passionate about working with children
-Ability to build rapport with children, families and peers
-Positive and patient demeanor
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must be punctual, and maintain a good attendance record
