🍂🦃 Thanksgiving Help for North Port Families 🦃🍂

As we approach Thanksgiving, we want to make sure our Cranberry Elementary families know about a wonderful local resource available to families in need. ❤️

Freedom Bible Church would like to provide a Thanksgiving meal to North Port families who could use a little extra help this holiday season.

🎶✨ A Magical Musical Adventure for Our 4th Graders! ✨🎶

Our Cranberry Cougars in 4th grade enjoyed a wonderful field trip to North Port High School to experience the Sarasota Orchestra Young Person’s Concert, “The Conductor’s Magical Book”! 🎻📖🎺

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience the magic of live orchestral music and enjoy an exciting musical adventure! 🎶💙💚

A very special thank you to Joshua Horne, Co-Principal French Horn Player with the Sarasota Orchestra, for taking the time to greet our students when they arrived. Your warm welcome helped make their experience even more special! 👏🎶

On Thursday, October 1st, grades K-2 had the wonderful opportunity to have a field trip at school! Florida Studio Theater came to Cranberry to perform Pinocchio for our students.

The students absolutely loved the show and we're so thankful to the Education Foundation of Sarasota for funding our grant to have this amazing experience!

📚✨ Celebrating the Magic of Books & Imagination! ✨📚

Our Cougars had a little extra fun with books, learning, imagination, and a little Dolly sparkle on September 25th – Dolly Parton Day! 💕🎀📖

In celebration of Dolly Parton’s incredible impact on childhood literacy through the founding of her Imagination Library, our classrooms enjoyed special activities that reminded us just how powerful a book can be. 🌟📚

And, of course, our Cougars had fun dressing up Dolly-inspired style! 🎀✨ From big hair and sparkles to boots, bows, and plenty of personality, our students and staff brought their own special flair to the day! 🤠💖

From creative projects to reading adventures, our students got to learn, imagine, create, and celebrate the joy of reading! 🥰📚

A big thank-you to Dolly Parton and the Imagination Library for helping put books into the hands of children and inspiring a lifelong love of reading. 💕📖

The holiday season is just around the corner, and the City of North Port is offering its Home for the Holidays program to help provide gifts for local children and families in need.

✨ REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! ✨

📅 Registration: October 1–31

🕗 Hours: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday

📍 Location: Social Services Division Office at the Family Service Center

📄 Please bring:

• Proof of residency

• Proof of income

• Birth certificate for each child

• Guardianship documentation for each child

🍎 Johnny Appleseed Day in Ms. Stevens’ Class! 🍎

Friday was full of apple-themed fun and learning! Students had the opportunity to taste-test red, green, and yellow apples, describe each one, and choose their favorite. 🍏🍎

They also got to enjoy some delicious apple treats, including apple pie, apple c***r, and apple butter with toast! 🥧🍎

What a fun (and tasty!) way to celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day! ❤️💚

🍫📚 Writing + S’mores = A Sweet Learning Experience! 🍫

Ms. Mack’s students enjoyed a delicious way to learn about paragraph writing! 📝✨

Students learned that a paragraph needs an opening sentence, closing sentence, and supporting details. They compared the graham crackers to the opening and closing sentences that hold the s’more together, while the chocolate and marshmallows represented the supporting details in between. 🍫☁️

Once students completed their paragraphs, they got to build their own s’mores! The more details they included in their writing, the more chocolate and marshmallows they could add. 😋

Learning is always sweeter at Cranberry! ❤️🐾
