Thank you to our community partners! On September 5, 290 free backpacks were distributed to North Plainfield students through a community backpack giveaway! A special thank you to Global Auto Mall, VIP Honda, La-Z-Boy and Municipal Committeewoman Cynthia Harris for partnering together to help students start the school year ready to learn.

Please remember to cross the street only at designated crosswalks. Crossing in other areas, even if it seems quicker, is dangerous and puts lives at risk.

We’re excited to announce that the reconstruction of the East End tennis courts is complete! The refreshed courts provide a renewed space for students and our school community to enjoy tennis and outdoor recreation.

The Puppy Parade is 11 am to 12 pm. Registration is $10 per dog, with $5 benefiting the North Plainfield Education Foundation and $5 supporting Hope 4 Paws. Prizes will be awarded in a variety of fun categories! Register at https://trst.in/ZryjE5

West End kicked off the school year with an exciting Pep Rally today! Students reviewed the district’s core values, learned about the power of grit, welcomed the 2026–27 Student Leadership Team, and enjoyed prize drawings. And, of course, the school mascot, Westie, made a special appearance. What a great way to build school spirit and start the year strong!

We were so excited to be back together again for this morning and kick off the 2026-27 school year! Staff were welcomed in style by the NPHS drumline and cheerleaders, who brought plenty of energy—and even tossed some NP swag into the crowd! We also celebrated Neil Thompson, the Somerset County Teacher of the Year, and welcomed keynote speaker Dr. Tracey Severns to inspire us as we begin a new year. We look forward to welcoming students on Tuesday!
