Teachers, is your PSLF payment count looking stuck? 🍎

According to an October 8 Business Insider report, some borrowers’ recent payments aren’t showing up in their PSLF payment counts—including borrowers who believe they’ve reached the required 120 qualifying payments.

A delayed update doesn’t necessarily mean your payments won’t count.

Keep your payment confirmations and employment certification records, and contact Federal Student Aid about any discrepancies. Don’t stop or change your payments based solely on what your dashboard shows.

Still checking your inbox for a PSLF Buyback update? The waiting can be frustrating—especially when you’re trying to figure out what to do next.

PSLF Buyback may allow eligible borrowers to get credit for certain months in deferment or forbearance. To qualify, you must already have at least 120 months of qualifying employment, and buying back those months must bring you to forgiveness.

Your employment history, qualifying payment count, and loan status all matter when reviewing this option.
