NOHS SITES Alumni

NOHS SITES Alumni A tiny idea turned into a dynasty! NOHS SITES was started in 1991 by Bob Pierce & Chris Kilbane. Hopefully this will be a way for people to reconnect with SITES!

After a few years, it extended to 2 sections and many activities got off the ground!

It is with great sadness to inform everyone that Mr. Bob Pierce passed away last week. He touched all of our lives. He would want you all to do something for your community in his honor. We are working at the Cleveland Food Bank this week to honor him. Please post what you do to honor him, and any memories you have of him. He touched all of our lives! Rest In Peace Mr. Pierce.

Sean Novak, Class of 1999, is in need of volunteers for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. He is in need of some volunteers for our "Take Steps" Walk in Cleveland on June 23rd of this year. If you think you could help, please respond to this post and I will make sure Sean gets your name. Remember, once a SITES student always a SITES student--- can you help?

Day One: Humbling. We were reminded how blest we are, today.

Outreach week has begun!

A special "Thank You" to Tom Grodek who came in today to talk to the students about his time in SITES, the legacy they are creating, and the importance of giving back! Of course, he brought up some great people from his year: Lisa DiTomasso, Brandon Ottelin, and Marty O'Malley! We are honored and humbled by the magnifecent individuals that you all are! Thanks again, Tom!

Just finished another successful Veteran's Day. We were wondering, what is your favorite memory from your days in SITES? Please include your year.

Okay SITES Alum! We are still up and running-- the levy hasn't strangled us yet! And this is our Twentieth Anniversary!!!!! I would like to invite anyone who is in the area to be a guest speaker for one of our two sections of SITES this year. I think our students could benefit from your knowledge and insight and how SITES helped you grow and mature.

NO has a levy on the ballot tomorrow (8/3), and to keep programs like SITES running, we need you all to tell anyone you know in NO to get out and vote. The district has made great cuts-- an asst superintendant, AP at high school, teachers through attrition, secretaries and staff-- but it isn't enough without your help! Please remember that these kids deserve the education you had. Please vote!

Congratulations to the SITES class of 2010 who logged more than 12000 hours of community service this year! You rock!

Thank you all who came out to the polls or encouraged friends and family to vote for the North Olmsted School Levy. Unfortunately, the level failed 55% to 45%. AT present, we are unsure of what cuts will be made. Hopefully, SITES wil make the cut and the future civic leaders of America will be afforded the same opportunities to experience service learning as you did. Thank you again for all of your support.

Sevice-learning has an important role in teaching civic duty to the students. As a former SITES student, you know the importance of public education in our society. On May 4th, our school district's future is on the line due to a state-mandated levy. Please encourage all you know who vote in North Olmsted to support our schools.
