We kicked off Thanksgiving Break with a “Pie Tasting” to go along with the book, The Humble Pie. Parents - don’t let your kids fool you - I got them all to try Pumpkin, Pecan, and Apple pie! Even if it was just a bite. We described each pie using our senses and read a descriptive text about pie. I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving! 🥧🦃🧡

Welcome back to where it all began - 3rd Grade 🤩

Today we participated in “Rotating Lines” to share our thinking and feedback with classmates about our “Imagery Comes to Life” illustration activity.

After annotating Shel Silverstein’s poems, “Monsters” and “The Crocodile’s Toothache”, we completed graphic organizers to break down the author’s tone, our mood, sensory details, figurative language, and POV about our favorite poem!

We used our graphic organizers to make our “imagery come to life” in an illustration that demonstrated what we visualized in our chosen poem.

We have quite the artists in our room and they were so proud of the outcome of their assignments! 🎨💭
