As we prepare for an amazing school year at David Lawrence Jr. K–8 Center, here are a few important reminders to help ensure a safe and successful start!

🕗 School Hours
📚 PK, Kindergarten & 1st Grade
• 8:20 AM – 1:50 PM (Daily)
• No early dismissals after 1:20 PM

📚 Grades 2–8
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:35 AM – 3:05 PM
• Wednesday: 8:35 AM – 1:50 PM
• No early dismissals after 2:35 PM

🚗 Dismissal Procedures
✅ Parent pick-up is in the South Parent Loop only
🚫 No stopping in front of the school or parking in the median.
🚌 Bus riders are dismissed from the front of the school. Parking at the bus ramp is not permitted.
🚶 Walkers must leave campus immediately after dismissal.

👕 Uniform Reminder
✔️ PK–5: White, Light Blue, or Navy logo polos
✔️ Grades 6–8: Royal Blue or Grey logo polos
✔️ Black, Khaki, or Navy pants
✔️ Closed-toe shoes only
🚫 No Crocs, slides, sandals, jeans with holes, or leggings.

🍎 Breakfast & Lunch
🥣 FREE Breakfast is available daily from 7:45–8:15 AM.
🍽️ Lunch is FREE through September 25, 2026!

🍎 Free School Meals Update for M-DCPS Families 🍎
Miami-Dade County Public Schools will continue to provide FREE breakfast and lunch at qualifying schools for the 2026–2027 school year.
✅ No application is required for students attending schools that qualify for free meals through the federal program.
📝 Students at other schools may still qualify for free or reduced-price meals, but a meal application must be completed.
📅 Meal applications open August 10.
Be sure to check your school's meal status and submit an application if needed to ensure your child receives the benefits they qualify for.
